During this 12th International Barcelona City Trophy, the best women’s water polo in the world will be taking place in Barcelona, the first stage in the Women’s World League, at the Unió Esportiva d’Horta on 13, 14 and 15 May.
The competition, which is also a knockout round for the 2011 world championships in Shanghai, will be pitting teams against one another from Great Britain, Greece, Hungary and Spain.
There will be team matches starting at 5.30 pm on the first day: the Greece vs Great Britain and the Spain vs Hungary.
At 4.30 pm on the following day, the matches will be: Hungary vs Great Britain and Greece vs Spain.
And finally, from 11 am to 13 pm, on 15 May, the matches will be Hungary vs Greece and Spain vs Great Britain, respectively.
The Catalan Swimming Federation is organising this competition as part of the events it is hosting this year (2011) to celebrate its 90th anniversary.
Other notable commemorative events include the Barcelona City Swimming, Synchronised Swimming and Diving trophies which are to be held on 4 and 5 June, 16 and 18 June and from 21 to 24 July, respectively.
