SOHO So Good

“Myself and 2 of my friends stayed at the Hotel Soho Barcelona last week, for my friend’s 30th birthday. We had all been to BCN before but had stayed with friends so this was our first experience of staying in a hotel there and we were far from disappointed. Its fair to say that the Soho really made our trip. It’s difficult not to have a good time in Barcelona but our stay in the Soho made it extra special. The location is fantastic, within walking distance of lots of cool areas and there are loads of decent little bars, restauants and cafes very near by. The hotel itself is spotlessly clean, super trendy and really quite fun. But best of all is the staff. In advance of our stay I had emailed the front desk for suggestions as to where would be a suitable venue to celebrate my friend’s birthday. The diverse and thoughtful list of suggestions from David stood us in good stead our entire trip and will definitely be used in the future. Throughout our stay all the front desk staff were lovely but a particular thank you must be said to Alessio and Xavi, who not only were really helpful with even suggestions for partying but were also incredibly friendly and a lot of fun. At the end it felt like we were saying good-bye to our friends. Now that is not something I could say about any other hotel I have ever stayed in so thanks guys and hope you see you again soon.”

Hotel Soho – sublime!

“A friend and I had the most delightful stay at Hotel Soho in Barcelona recently. The location was fantastic, the staff very friendly and helpful and the amenities spotless and of high quality. I would recommend this hotel to anyone travelling to Barcelona – it certainly made every other hotel on my trip look poor by comparison!”

I love Barcelona especially for the architecture and the arts. I hope we can come back when it is cooler.

You asked me yesterday if I had a suggestion and I said none. Now I have one. The taxi we took to the airport was not so good. It was dusty and had no airconditioning. So in a way it spoiled the great stay we had in your hotel. So my suggestion is if you can have better control of how your guests are transported to the airport it would be a plus. I was hoping you would have a shuttle service may be in cooperation with other hotels which costs between taking taxi and taking a bus. I have seen this in other cities in America.

This is a minor point. Your hotel was fabulous. The design is awesome and really quite modern. You also have a good location

Las Golondrinas (Pleasure Boats) of Barcelona.

For over a century, the popular Golondrinas (Pleasure Boats) have been sailing across Barcelona harbour (35min). Trimar or Omnibus Catamarans sail along the city coast: beaches, the Olympic Marina and return (1h 30min).

These are boats with special characteristics to navigate in closed waters, in this case the port of Barcelona. The wooden body has two decks a lower and an upper, also called imperial. It has two bridges so that it can manoeuvre better in narrow spaces.

“Enjoyed a wonderful extended cruise holiday in Barcelona at the beautiful Hotel 1898. Although we wished we had booked more time, we enjoyed a fantastic stay. Upon arrival,  we were treated with the a very warm welcome right from the arrival at the hotel’s front doors. Next time we are in Barcelona, we will definately be booking more time to stay and be able to enjoy the hotel’s full facilities. Beautiful ambience throughout the entire hotel.  Highly recommend this hotel for a luxurious escape from reality. Thank you to all staff for an enjoyable stay.”

Due to flight delays we did not arrive at your hotel until almost midnight but the welcome we received could not have been better.

Your night receptionist, on seeing we were on our honeymoon, upgraded us to one of your penthouse suites. We felt like royalty!!

Not only was the suite more than we could have ever hoped for the service from all your staff was fantastic.

Hotel 1898 – a Fabulous Spa City Break

“My husband and I stayed here for 3 nights from 22nd August based on the reviews on Trip Advisor and we loved this hotel. We paid the extra to book a Priviledge room and it was worth every penny, keep an eye on the hotel’s website for some good deals that are updated regularly.

Highlights were the large bedroom and bathroom, lovely products, quiet room (even though it was on the corner of La Rambla, we heard little noise), roof top pool and terrace but more than anything the basement spa area. We used the pool, steam room and sauna every day and it was so relaxing and peaceful. The pool has lots of water jets for you to find. We went for a city break and ended up having a relaxing Spa one!

The other thing we norticed about the hotel it that there are always staff cleaning it, whether in the lifts, the lobby, the rooftop or the spa and so it is spotless. The staff are all really proud of this hotel and rightly so.

As mentioned in other reviews, there is a Starbucks next to the hotel which was a bonus for us caffeine addicts. There was also a lovely seating area away from the bar where they played silent movies which were fun to watch over a drink.

We would not hesitate to recommend this hotel to anyone”
