We chose to stay at Hotel Europark

We chose to stay at Hotel Europark from so many choices available, and after looking at the pictures which show how attractive this hotel is. However the web pictures do not tell the full story and convey the experience of meeting the wonderful staff. Every one of them are happy to be of assistance and to go out of their way to be helpful. When my wife had to go into hospital the staff were so supportive and sympathetic to me, and the help I received at that time was a great comfort to me. Thank you all very much, and I hope that my wife and I can return to the Hotel Europark very soon.

We recently spent 4 nights at the Hotel Europark. Our stay was very enjoyable. The hotel was initially chosen as we were looking for somewhere with a pool and Tripadvisor comments recommended this as a good choice. The hotel was very quiet and comfortable, located close to the Metro and supermarket for essentials and the staff were all very helpful. Our rooms were great and housekeeping looked after them well. We would recommend the Hotel Europark to other travellers.

From Broadway to Barcelona: Chicago at Teatre Tívoli
September 27, 2011 by admin

A thirteen-year run in Broadway, six Tony awards and an audience of 17 million. These spectacular figures bear witness to the success of Chicago, the Bob Fosse and Fred Ebb musical with music by John Kander, which has seduced half the world and which is now coming to Barcelona, backed by the international show’s very producers.
Teatre Tívoli‘s will become 1920′s Chicago to bring audiences the story of Roxie Hart, a woman who kills her lover and ends up in prison. There she meets Velma Kelly, another crime-passionnel killer, her rival in securing the services of the best criminal lawyer, Billy Flynn, and turn herself into a star.
The sensuality of the music and dancing, and the great songs that everyone already knows, set the pace of a show where characters and story never lose their power. And that is because the stage, which is practically bare, only makes rooms for the actors and orchestra, delighting us with their live music.
Chicago is playing at the Tívoli for eight weeks, to the sound of jazz!
Beautiful room, clean and have everything you need

We had a great stay in Hotel Barcelona Universal for five nights from 14 till 19 September. We stayed there during our Herbalife Extravaganza, because it looks good on the website and it was central to Palau Saint Jordi, where the convention was.
It was better than expected. Friendly staff who appoliziged that we had no rooms together (3 families). Beautiful room, clean and have everything you need.
There was a wide choice at breakfast. The nice swimming pool on the roof gives us a nice view over the city and a pleasant relaxing bath.
This hotel will be our standard whan we visit Barcelona. Till next year!

It was our second stay at this wonderful hotel. Strengths of this hotel are:
- Its central location in relation to both the historical center and as well as the business districts of Barcelona.
- Highly comfortable and well equipped rooms with a very neat room service
- A varied breakfast buffet with an accurate, pleasant service
- A very friendly and efficient organization at the reception desk
- ICT facilities
- The stunning roof terrace with its surprising view of the surrounding neighborhood
An absolute must for those who want a carefree stay in a bustling metropolis.
I’d most certainly wish to return at Europark Hotel.

La Mercè festivities 2011
September 21, 2011 by admin

La Mercè festivities (from 22 to 25 September), they will once again be offering a broad, varied programme featuring traditional activities, spectacles, shows and plenty of entertainment.

Barcelona Festivity
The Correfoc (fire run) is premiering a new Porta de l’Infern (Hell’s Gate), which will extend across Via Laietana, until it becomes a hell’s wall, to quote Xavier Cordomí, the artistic director of Tradicional.
Dance companies and contemporary dancers will be performing at Ciutadella park to the chimes of a travelling carillon, a very unusual instrument hailing from the city of Douai. What’s more, the Mercè Dansa display will once again be taking over the stage opposite the Cathedral.
The La Mercé parade is expected to be the largest ever, with participants joining in from all over Catalonia.
Ciutadella park is one of the main settings of La Mercè. During the day it becomes a Dance and Street-Theatre Park and during the night, the Lights Park, with shows making use of new technologies.
These two approaches meet in El Llac dels Cignes (Swan Lake), one of the star shows of the La Mercè, combining dance with spectacular screenings at the park’s fountain, among other surprises. This is a local production featuring over a hundred dancers, whose main figures come from the Mariinsky Theatre of St Petersburg, the guest city at this year’s La Mercè.
The music programme’s details are not yet out but most of the groups taking part have already been announced, with the venue being shared between BAM and Mercè Música.
Antònia Font, Javiera Mena, Mazoni, Els Pets, El Columpio Asesino, Fangoria, Antonio Carmona, Anímic, Astrud & Col·lectiu Brossa and Gràcia Power are just some of the groups who’ll be playing at the La Mercè festival.
As for the Pyromusical, which will conclude the festivities once again, this year tribute will be paid to the four Puig i Cadafalch columns.
A very nice stay at Europark Hotel

We came for four days to Barcelona and booked our room at Europark Hotel thanks to the good feed backs on TripAdvisor…and we absolutely don’t regret it. The Hotel was very nice and the staff very helpful. The swimming pool was a real delight after long hours of walk around most of Barcelona’s must see sights. The only weak points of our room I could find are that it was right under the breakfast room and it was a bit noisy from 6 am, and that we heard many doors slapping early in the morning (especially the one separating us from the lobby – our room was on the ground floor)
However we really enjoyied our stay!
Thanks Europark team.

Barcelona Electric Mopeds
September 19, 2011 by admin
Filed under Barcelona experiences, Barcelona, always!
The company Honda has given Barcelona City Council, for free, seventeen electric mopeds intended for various areas’ municipal services, including mobility and environment.
That means Barcelona is to become the first and only city in Europe to act as a testing ground for such vehicles, before they go on sale in the continent.
For his part, the Chairman of the company Montesa Honda SA, Yukitoshi Fujisaka, explained they chose our city because “motorbikes in Barcelona are an essential feature for transport and mobility“, and pointed out that it was “an important step towards extending zero-emission motorbikes to Europe“.
The tests, which are to be supervised by the RACC, who have also received a free moped, will be used for bringing about the appropriate adaptations to the model, designed for use at work, such as delivery and messaging services.
Aspects will be assessed such as its range, technical incidents and opportunities for improvement.
These mopeds, free of CO2 emissions, have seating for one person and a range of 34 km. Their batteries can be charged with a normal charger within three and a half hours, or with a fast charger within 30 minutes.
New fast chargers have also been provided, as well as eighteen portable charger and eighteen current transformers. Source: www.bcn.es
