Barcelona Universal Hotel

We spent four nights at the universal just after easter 2010 and must say we had a great time. In some way this was due to getting a room upgrade to one of the three suites, lucky or what eh!

Everything else about the hotel was good, particularly the very helpful desk staff and doormen. The hotel even replaced our broken TV at very short notice – in time for us to watch the Real Madrid v Barca footie match!

The hotel’s position is good too, within walking distance from La Ramblas and the gothic qtr. From the airport it was easy to get the Aerobus to Pl Espana and walk down C. Parallel. We survived with hand luggage but perhaps the walk would be too much if you had big cases.
