The B-Bar is perfect for sharing a nice wine or ushering the evening in with a cocktail, while choosing from our selection of tapas made with only the finest ingredients: Iberian ham, beef carpaccio with parmesan shavings, marinated salmon tacos with tartar seaweed & wasabi and our tapa star… Anchovy Pilée.

This Friday, 22nd of March, from 21:30h we propose a new experience at the B-Bar: Gin & Tonic Party! To do this, we have the incredible combination of a British Premium Gin, Plymouth, made in Black Friars Distillery & the Fever-Tree tonic, quickly adopted by bartenders that they’ve discovered the benefits that can bring a great mixer.

We would like to introduce to you Le Tour de Barcelona.

Cycling holidays in Barcelona. Hard road rides, long distances, exhausting training and miles and miles of pleasure. Their ultimate goal is to show you why Barcelona and its outskirts are such a wonderful place to train and spend your holidays. Discover why so many Pro-tour riders choose to live in and around the big city.

They have spent all their life pedaling and racing around the world but always come back home to enjoy our quiet roads, steep climbs and narrow descents. Beyond Gaudí, Barça and Sagrada Familia, cyclists have wonderful and secrets places to ride in. Good weather the whole year round allows 4 season riding and training camps.

Le Tour de Barcelona organizes a seamlesly scheduled 3 day road racing training camp. It is hard enough for real cyclists who want to improve their fitness level or polish their cycling skills. An English speaking guide will show you the best places to ride around Barcelona.

You will feel like a pro rider, with nothing to worry about, just pedal and enjoy. Just grab your bike, study the roadbook and ride hard trying to follow the leader. A broom wagon with spare wheels, parts, food and drink will follow you during training (but we know you won’t need it).

You will stay in B-Hotel, one of the better-located hotels in Barcelona: new, modern and comfortable, with a roof top swimming pool. We will be pleased to help you organizing training camps and holidays with differents features and locations. Just ask, we will adapt or create a new tailor-made route for you, either on road or off road.

Barcelona Terrace Week

Hotel terraces are to stop being unknown entities this weekend, by opening themselves up to city residents and tourists alike during the 2nd edition of Barcelona Terrace Week, when 52 hotels will be offering visits, the best in drink and succulent food, along with original activities too.

From 5 to 9 June, these places of tranquility boasting bird’s eye views will also be offering live music, exhibitions, book presentations, massage sessions for everyone and a display of synchronised swimming at their pools.

Myths and Ancient Coins

Gods and heroes adorned the coins of Hispania. Now an exhibition explains some of the beliefs associated with them. They were not just used to pay for products and services but also as amulets, talismans, offerings and funeral and even items. We are referring to the coins of Roman Hispania now on display at the Museu Nacional d’Art de Catalunya (MNAC) in an exhibition entitled Gods and Myths of Antiquity. The evidence from Hispanic coins.

In fact there are 289 items, coins and archaeological objects, which clearly show the proliferation of images, of gods and heroes, that appeared on coins produced before the arrival of the Visigoths in the Iberian Peninsula, after which the Christian cross began to replace the images of Heracles and Europa.

Gods and myths of antiquity, an exhibition organized by the Numismatic Cabinet of Catalonia, proposes an approach to the gods, myths and cults of the inhabitants of the Iberian peninsula from the fifth century before Christ, and until the arrival of the Visigoths about one thousand years later.

MNAC is located in Montjuic, just beside the Magical Fountains and very near our B-Hotel in Plaza Espanya, next to Las Arenas Shopping Mall.

The largest retrospective of Delacroix, now in Barcelona

Every facet of Eugène Delacroix can be seen at the exhibition on at the CaixaForum. This is the most important retrospective dedicated to the French painter for half a century, and features over a hundred and thirty works. These will include paintings from the world’s most important museums; works that are milestones in Western visual culture. You will be able to see not just Delacroix’s most famous oil paintings but also a series of works that explore the painter’s relationship with Spain. CaixaForum offers you an Interactive visit.

This exhibition, jointly organized by CaixaForum and the Louvre as part of an agreement of collaboration is the most important in Spain that has been organized around the figure of Delacroix. It has loans of such important institutions as the National Gallery in London, the Metropolitan Museum in New York or the Art Institute of Chicago.

CaixaForum has been designed as a space for dissemination and debate on culture and its many manifestations. It offers a miscellaneous range of subjects that covers all periods, from the initial manifestations of art to the most innovative and recent avant-garde, and feature the greatest ever exponents of art and culture. CaixaForum also periodically runs cycles of conferences, seminars, courses, concerts, performances and special events that help to prompt reflection on this changing world and better understanding both of our society and that of other cultures.

CaixaForum is located in Montjuïc, just a few meters from our B-Hotel in Plaza Espanya and next to Las Arenas shopping mall.

Joan Miró: The ladder of escape

Renowned as one of the greatest Surrealist painters, filling his paintings with luxuriant colour, Joan Miró worked in a rich variety of styles. This is a rare opportunity to enjoy more than 150 paintings, drawings, sculptures and prints from moments across the six decades of his extraordinary career. This exhibition is co-organised by Tate Modern and Fundació Joan Miró.

The exhibition also traces an anxious and politically engaged side to Miró’s work that reflects his passionate response to one of the most turbulent periods in European history. Working in Barcelona and Paris, Miró tracked the mood of the Spanish Civil War and the first months of the Second World War in France. It also shows that, behind the engaging innocence of his imagery, lies a profound concern for humanity and a sense of personal and Catalan national identity. Extraordinary works from different moments of his career celebrate his roots in his native Catalonia.

Fundació Joan Miró is located at Montjuic, accesible by Funicular from Parallel station, just in front of Hotel Barcelona Universal. You can reach Fundació Joan Miró also from Plaza Espanya, by bus line 50, stopping next to B-Hotel.

The whitest party: Sensation Barcelona

After a spectacular world premiere with an audience of 40,000 in Amsterdam in July, the new edition is going to fill the Palau Sant Jordi with people dressed in white and ready to dance to this new festival concept.

On the 8th of October 2011, Sensation will make its return to Barcelona. The venue, Palau Sant Jordi, will be transformed into Innerspace, making it the second city to host Sensation’s latest theme after the premiere in the Amsterdam Arena.

Sensation started in Amsterdam in the year 2000. Since then, over 1,5 million visitors in seventeen countries have experienced what is arguably the world’s most spectacular dance and music phenomenon. Each year, Sensation tours the globe with a completely new show. Consistently taking the acclaimed theme ‘be part of the night, dress in white’ to new heights, Sensation’s aim is to bring a positive message to a growing global audience.

Barcelona will be dressing up in white with Sensation Innerspace, a new, exclusive event dedicated to dance music. Wally López, Sharam, Fedde Le Grand and Mr White are just some of the artists who will be bringing Barcelona the very best in electronic music at the moment. Máxima FM, the media partner for Sensation Barcelona, will broadcast the event.
