Núñez i Navarro Hotels on Pinterest

Pinterest is a pinboard-style photo-sharing website that allows users to create and manage theme-based image collections such as events, interests, and hobbies. Users can browse other pinboards for images, ‘re-pin‘ images to their own pinboards.

Social networks are changing our attitude as consumers. There is no doubt that the new role that is assuming the consumer, make it a prescriber of our brand and the Internet is becoming increasingly harder for companies. For this reason, Núñez i Navarro Hotels creates its Pinboard on Pinterest.

Pinterest was founded by Ben Silbermann, Paul Sciarra & Evan Sharp and it was developed in December 2009. The site was launched as a closed beta in March 2010. The launch of an iPhone app in early March 2011 brought in a more than expected number of downloads. On 16 August 2011, Time magazine listed Pinterest in its “50 Best Websites of 2011” article.

Pinterest users can upload, save, sort and manage images, known as pins, and other media content (videos) through collections known as pinboards. Pinterest acts as a personalized media platform, whereby users’ content and the content of others can be browsed on the main page. Users can then save individual pins to one of their own boards using the “Pin It” button, with Pinboards typically organized by a central topic or theme.

U232 Hotel: Case study at the Community College of City University of Hong Kong

Within the curriculum of studies at the Community College of the City University of Hong Kong, Spanish language students analyze the U232 Hotel website, as a case study of a hotel web in Barcelona.

Students improve their level of Spanish, while they face tasks and situations related to the workplace. Since most of the course students have visited Barcelona, U232 Hotel was selected as real reference to study the use of Spanish language on the Internet for business purposes. This topic is of great interest to students in Hong Kong, and several of them have expressed their interest in working in the tourism industry or in continuing their studies in Tourism.

The website of U232 Hotel was one of the first hotel sites launched by Núñez i Navarro in collaboration with Travelclick, and it has been translated into seven languages​​: Spanish, Catalan, English, French, German, Italian and Russian. Certainly, being able to communicate with customers in their own language is key to explain the success of U232 Hotel through the web.

During the international fair Hostelco, taking place these days in Barcelona, were held the World Hospitality Industry Awards 2012. These awards recognize the efforts of professionals in the hospitality sector two key areas: the hotel management and its most innovative products.

Barcelona Hotel Terraces Week

“A vista d’hotel” is a new initiative designed by Gremi d’Hotels de Barcelona and Ajuntament de Barcelona by opening up the terraces at 36 city hotels to locals for free during five days, from 3 to 7 May.

It is not just a question of enjoying the views or open air, either. Each terrace will become a cultural setting and you will be able to enjoy them while all these events and activities are taking place.

The hotels have a special gastronomic idea for the occasion. They are all preparing a Mediterranean juice or non-alcoholic fruit cocktail. The recipe will be different on each terrace. Those of you who want to fill your stomach a little more will have a choice of aperitifs, tapas and food and wine tasting suppers.

Suite U232 Room (901)

Part owning and managing a seperate 5* guesthouse in Bath I was both absolutely delighted and concerned by this hotel, for all the RIGHT reasons.

I booked in advance this hotel for three nights as a birthday treat for my girlfriend. I booked a suite U232 room (901) and has been in touch on many occassions prior to arrival for advice, assistance in terms of my reservation and also to have restaurants booked on my behalf. On each occassion I was well assisted even though Im sure I must have seemed a nuisance, I just wanted it all to be perfect. They seemed to understand and were nothing but polite and helpful.

The room was sensational, large room, but not huge, an INCREDIBLE bathroom, one I certainly plan to recreate in my own home, well equipped and with the added bonus of a wonderful private terrace. The terrace and bathroom was really great. The bed was also very comfortable. The only slight nags I could possibly issue are that the furniture outside does get wet as the terrace is not covered. Then again, if it were covered you’;d lose some view which would be a pity.

Another highlight was breakfast, for a european city hotel this really was first class, yes it is a buffet but the food is well made and very tasty with a wide selection. We also tried one morning the breakfast in bed at no extra cost and this too arrived on time, at the correct temperature and well prepared.

Location wise, I cannot fathom the criticism, if one wants to stay on La Rambla with the street hawks and football fans then fine. But for me U232 is ideally situated, the metro system works like a dream, very regular, lots of space, clean and very cheap. Literally takes door to door under 10 minuts to any of the main attractions: La Rambla, Sagrada Familia, Park Guell, Montjuic or the harbour.

Finally, the big bonus, the staff, again, in comparison to other city centre hotels thsi was second to none, the staff were friendly, polite, helpful and informed. Managing a guesthouse this is usually my selling point as the main differential from city hotels, however U232 proved that personal service is achievable in these larger venues. This was my concern, if other hotels were to cotton on to this, guesthouses such as mine would no longer have a market. I hope they wont and that U232 stays a unique shining light.

I would like to partcularly thank Cristina, who helped me with my initial reservation and also aided my requests, she was also ably aided by two other colleagues who helped answer questions and make reservations for me.
I would also like to thank the gentleman who we often saw at reception during our stay, I believe his name to be Miguel (could never quite make out his name badge in the light) young gentleman receptionist who was so helpful, polite and courtious. Thank all of you and I look forward to coming back.

Un séjour superbe dans l’H1898. Du déjeuner le matin bon et varié, idéal pour démarrer les promenades dans Barcelone. La Piscine et le spa, faits pour se détendre au retour avant de profiter des nuits dans les petits troquets typiques de Barcelone. Une chambre propre, calme, confortable. Bref, mon seul regrets ? n’être resté que 2 jours ! Mais promis, je reviendrais…
