Colonial dream – H1898

Posted on 9 October 2008 in Nuñez i Navarro Hotels

“My boyfriend and I recently stayed at H1898, finishing off 10 days relaxing in France with 2 nights/days of frantic sightseeing in Barcelona at the beginning of October. We absolutely loved it – both Barcelona and the hotel. Slap bang in the middle of La Rambla you couldn’t be in a more convenient location although this does make it a little tricky to navigate by car – you need someone in the hotel to open the parking gates and clear the way in a courtyard of cafes!

The hotel facilities were amazing – especially the roof top bar and indoor pool/spa area. Was quite dissappointed that the roof top swimming pool was not open – I guess they may think it is too cold but being British we were in proper summer clothing!

The service from staff was so friendly and very efficient and everytime we went back to our room it seemed that it had been tidied once more!

The room was also lovely – loved the music in the bathroom. Only down side was that we had two single beds pushed together to form a double and they had a tendency of rolling apart so that you would wake up to find yourself in a crevice between the two!

Loved the colonial decor – really made the hotel feel special! We would definitely love to stay again!”
