The building was built in 1870 as bourgeois palace, by 19th century Catalan architect Jerónimo Granells. It was commissioned by the Serra-Chopitea family, the hotel first opened its doors to guests in 1935. This June 2013, reopens its doors after refurbishment, preserving its atmosphere and style but upgrading all the services and facilities.
