Kosmopolis returns to the Barcelona Centre for Contemporary Culture (CCCB) from 14 to 16 March. Hence the festival’s title: “The Extended Literature Fest“, a festival that studies literature in all its guises, not just in print.
Jaume Cabré will open the festival. The author of “Jo confesso” will signal the start of events, where one of the highlights is a new edition of Gran Slam Barcelona, featuring contemporary oral poetry.
Another highlight will be the David Carabén concert. A member of the catalan band Mishima, he will be performing songs that are not about love.
The arrival of Curiosity on Mars and the Higgs boson are some of the topics that will be debated in the Third Culture. There is also room for reflection on sci-fi films and TV series, and their relationship with literature.
Humour has a place at this edition of Kosmopolis too. An example is the dialogue Andreu Buenafuente and Juan José Millás will hold on sustainable comedy.
This year Kosmopolis is selling tickets for specific events instead of festival tickets. That will offer visitors a cheaper way of taking part and allow them to choose their own itinerary.
