For the second year running, the Salsa & Latin Jazz Festival will be turning Barcelona into a giant dance floor with its dancy-happy Latin rhythms.
La Sucursal SA have organised this festival’s return to our city, following its triumph here last year. So, this time the hottest Caribbean rhythms will be descending on Poble Espanyol where host to performances, dance competitions and activities.
This year’s godfather will be the legendary pianist from Puerto Rico, Eddie Palmieri, who is celebrating the 50th anniversary of his artistic career. Other artists the comprise the line-up for the festival are: Rubén Blades, Calle 13, Gilberto Santa Rosa, Larry Farlou with Alfredo de la Fe and Frankie Vázquez, Havana D’Primera, La Excelencia and La Sucursal SA.
What’s more, two competitions are going to be held at the Salsa Open and the Salsa King, where Spain’s best salsa dancers will be taking part. There will also be salsa workshops and fringe activities.
Meanwhile, Farga de L’Hospitalet will be holding the first get-together of its kind in Europe: a performance from Rubén Blades and Calle 13.
