The Granvia Hotel, located in the Eixample district and one of the best locations of Barcelona’s: Passeig de Gràcia, Gran Via and Plaza Catalunya, just launched its new website.

Built in the 19th century as a bourgeois palace, the hotel first opened its doors to guests in 1935. Tables are art – Barcelona Exhibition: La Taula és Art

34 of the city’s antique shops, galleries, designer boutiques and restoration workshops become a work of art, as part of the Tables are art route, which is being offered by the Associació per a l’Estudi del Moble.

The route and showcase competition use tables, whether as practical or decorative objects, as the connecting thread for improvising an agreeable walk entitled “La taula és art“, taking in the showcases to be found in the Barri Gòtic, Eixample, Gràcia, Sarrià – Sant Gervasi and Poblenou districts, which offer different visions using a variety of tables.

The antiques shops, galleries, designer boutiques and restoration workshops that are taking part in the initiative are all making a personal interpretation of the table in order to create a unique cultural route that includes some of the city’s most creative showcases.

Meanwhile, the Museu de les Idees [Ideas Museum] outdoes everyone else with a white table holding a huge number of colourist objects and curiosities, and the “Museu Disseny Hub” [Design Hub Museum] foyer presents eleven tables from its collection that can be seen through small windows.

We would book Europark Hotel again

We enjoyed very much our stay for 4 nights at Europark Hotel which was our first booking among NN Hotels. It is a very nice decorated design hotel in the Eixample area near to two Metro stations and only a 10 minute walk to Passeig de Gracia. We had a Superior Room backside and loved the decoration and equipment of this spacious and well cleaned room. The breakfast service met our price/performance expectation. We would book Europark Hotel again.

Great stay at U232

Had a one-night stay pre-cruise at the U232 and was very impressed with the room and the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff. Interestingly, I spent a second night in the Eixample at another 4 star hotel paid for by my cruise line. It was a little closer to the action but otherwise U232 won hands-down. I would gladly stay there again.

Another trip to lovely Barcelona

Back to Soho for another trip to lovely Barcelona,

Overall ok hotel for first timers couples because of it’s proximity to high end shopping and subway.

A few things that killed us this time :

1) Forget cocktail drinks … no bar
2) Room service until 21h30 with limited menu
3) Terrasse was small (Room 73) compared to what pictures showed
4) Rooms and hotel are starting to be “run-down” …

Will we go back? Maybe but I think it is time for a change next time we go … Need to see the competition!

By the way taxi to airport over charged us … 36 euro … He said it was a special rate and luggage surplus. He told the long way to reach the airport that is all. Ask for the overcharge BEFORE leaving because they want your good AND will get it. Never had a taxi bill lower than 28 eur BTW.

U232 – SIMPLY THE BEST HOTEL EVER

Myself and husband have just returned from a whirlwind trip for his 50th Birthday. We stayed in Barcelona as part of our trip for 2 nights at the U232 and can honestly say this is the BEST hotel we have EVER stayed in. We stayed in one of the top rooms and it as absolute luxury, not to mention the fabulous views of the city from our private balcony and the bath! We are certain to stay there again. Service too was absolutely fantastic and the receptionists were friendly and nothing was too much trouble to ask. We cannot wait to stay there again in the very near future. Cannot recommend this hotel enough..

Nous avons séjourné au Soho Hotel de Barcelone pendant 5 jours, nous étions un petit groupe de 11 personnes.

A l’unanimité nous pouvons dire que l’hôtel Soho est très bien:

- Il est bien situé
- Il est très propre
- Les chambres sont belles, spacieuses, bien décorées
- Le personnel est très chaleureux et parle français pour la plupart
- Le petit déjeuner est très bien
Bref nous l’avons trouvé PARFAIT

Free GOOD wi-fi. Hotel Europark Barcelona

Also stayed at Europark for 6 nights. Was a little concerned about location as it seemed a little out on map but could not have been more wrong. Superb place perfect spot. Metros close by, 2 stops to heart of Gothic area, but out of it in evening which I preferred. Good selection of restaurants and bars all round.
Hotel very clean and cool, rooms a little small but clean and quiet air con. Speaker in bathrooom for TV quite useful. Free GOOD wi-fi.
A couple of minor negatives on terrace pool. No drinks an offer, a small bar up there would be a goldmine, there was 6 to 10 hot people up there most late afternoons and the off of some cooling drinks would surely have been taken up. Also whatever possessed them to paint pool black? I know it goes with general theme of hotel but it doesn’t work. All those looking at photos who have not been rest assured it is a clean cool pool not the dirty swamp it looks like.
Minor and cosmetic points on the whole 5 out of 5.
