BCN Fan Fest – F1 Grand Prix

The BCN Fan Fest is a completely free recreational event. The Jardinets de Gràcia is an F1 village from Thursday 9 to Sunday 12 May and F1 fans will be able to enjoy other motor-themed activities, take part in promotions and receive discounts.

Brands such as SEAT, Hot Wheel, McGregor and Banco Santander are providing F1 simulators, a motorhome, circuits for children and other enhanced-reality activities to enjoy Formula 1 in Barcelona.

Several shops on Passeig de Gràcia have also fitted themselves out to welcome the fifth grand prix of the season, which is taking place at the Circuit de Catalunya.

The Spanish Grand Prix, along with other events such as the World Swimming Championships and the X Games will be turning Barcelona into the capital of sport.

Pablo Picasso: Tauromachy at the Foundation Suñol

Some twenty texts by the bullfighter José Delgado (alias Pedro Illo) and 26 aquatints by Pablo Picasso that illustrate the text. This is the work Bullfighting, brought together by the Fundació Suñol and on display until September.

The artist, fascinated by the world of bullfighting from a young age, produced these highly expressive works of art in 1959. In fact, bullfighting is a running theme in the work of the painter and sculptor.

Through this exhibition, the Fundació Suñol is paying homage to Picasso 40 years after his death.

Thank you all from the bottom of our Hearts, we shall see you again! What a beautiful City so much to see and experience. The Vibrancy is just awesome. The Street Market by Coreixample

The next Friday 8 and Saturday 9 March, the Coreixample traders go out with the 1st edition of Market Street. It is a fair ‘urban and cosmopolitan‘.

The Street Market is located in the heart of Gran Via, between Passeig de Gràcia and Pau Claris street, taking over from the street market that has also been organised in the area for years and which is now being presented through a totally new concept, in the style of the iconic street markets of London, Paris and Amsterdam.

Over thirty shops from every sector will be taking part, with offers and discounts: fashion, accessories, homewear, gift items, food, travel, services and healthcare.

As a supplement to this broad range of shopping offers, there will be a selection of wines and tapas, you can not miss! To purchase tickets at 5€, you can make up to 4 tastings. And if you want to learn the intricacies of Japanese cuisine and chocolate workshops also enjoy complimentary sushi and chocolate!

Coreixample Street Market

59th Maria Canals Barcelona International Music Competition

A total of 91 pianists from 26 different countries will be taking part in the 59th Maria Canals Barcelona International Music Competition, which is being held from 7 to 22 March at the Palau de la Música and a number of other symbolic locations in the city.

The elimination rounds of the competition will be held from 10 to 17 March at the Petit Palau. The three finalists will compete in the final round on 20 March at the Palau de la Música, in an event that will feature the Vallès Symphony Orchestra. The competition gives away more than 80.000 euros in the form of top prizes, special prizes and professional concerts in Catalonia, Spain and in the international arena.

For the second time, the opening concert on 8 March will be given by pianist Alexey Lebedev, winner of the second prize and the Public Prize in 2011.

Furthermore, as part of the competition, there will be the OFF Maria Canals, a programme of activities that includes initiatives such as installing pianos at more than thirty locations around the city for members of the public to play. In fact, this year there will be more than 130 free performances and 500 hours of grand piano music.

The pianos will be situated on Passeig de Gràcia, in around fifteen cultural centres, on the metro (Diagonal Interchange), in Plaça Reial (where a pianothon will take place), in Plaça de Pastrana, in Sants Station and in Pedralbes Centre.

Hotel Europark: Muchas Gracias !!! Ole!!!

I had stayed in Hotel Europark for 5 nights in early January. And I really enjoying my stays there very much after two weeks of Spanish study! My first impression of HotelEuropark was cool and modern decoration hotel. Room is stylish, clean and tidy, well equipped. The location was well situated,not too far from the main tourist spots but not in noisy street around like Les Rambles. Girona Metro and Renfe Passeg de gracia station are plus which is within few minutes walks from hotel. Nice restuarant”la Rita” nearby… Frankly, I had been stayed in many different 3,4 and 5 stars hotels in Europe, it is my first time wanted to write a compliment comment to a hotel. Because of their sincere services can compete with 5 stars hotel which was surpried me. And what made me wanted to write this comment is the guys who working in the front desk. At first, I felt that they are little too cool. However, after day by day, with lot of helpful advise from them. I realised that they are very warm at heart in help their guests. Especially, there were one gentlemen with nice smile who helped me to changed to a room with more sun light, because the room of the first night was too dark for me as a single lady. I really appreciated him. Also, one another gentlemen with glasses who told me, there is a market and nice wine shop where I can get nice local Spanish iberica ham, vino and cava. I’m grateful for their helpful service. Muchas Gracias !!! Ole!!!

I looking forward to visiting Barcelona and Hotel Europark again in the future !

Avis EuroPark Hôtel Barcelone

Je reviens de Barcelone après y avoir passé quelques jours. L’hôtel Europark est très bien situé et on peut rayonner à pied dans tous les quartiers de Barcelone. Le personnel est très efficace, sympathique et professionel. La chambre était de belles dimensions et l’atmosphère des plus agréables et reposantes. Le petit déjeuner était copieux et varié. Bref un excellent rapport qualité prix. Ce n’était pas ma première venue et cela ne sera pas ma dernière non plus bien au contraire.

Europark Barcelona Hotel reviews

We have stayed at the Europark for the past 2 visits to Barcelona and will be our first choice for our next visit. The location is great, the staff very friendly and helpful. The rooms and facilities have been clean and well equipped. Breakfast is also excellent with lots of choice. All in all, well love this Hotel and will return everytime we visit Barca.
