Barcelona Children’s Festival

The Children’s Festival has been entertaining kids since 1963. This year is no exception, with the festival boasting more than one hundred and fifty different activities of all kinds at the Montjuïc exhibition venue.

One of the main features this year is sport, with a recreation of the Olympic Stadium and the presence of some of Barça‘s footballers. Some of the other attractions include go-karts, ponies, traditional games, video games, concerts, magic shows and a visit from some of the Sesame Street characters from Port Aventura.

Take part in this unforgettable experience; in the numerous sporting, recreational and educational activities being organized at the Children’s Festival, a fabulous fiesta where fun is guaranteed. The best way to teach values ​​such as creativity, solidarity, respect for diversity and the environment. It also promotes the sport and the Mediterranean food. Here you can participate in interactive science activities, recycling or responsible consumption, road safety circuits, workshops on how to care for pets, crafts and drawing competitions.

Joan Miró: The ladder of escape

Renowned as one of the greatest Surrealist painters, filling his paintings with luxuriant colour, Joan Miró worked in a rich variety of styles. This is a rare opportunity to enjoy more than 150 paintings, drawings, sculptures and prints from moments across the six decades of his extraordinary career. This exhibition is co-organised by Tate Modern and Fundació Joan Miró.

The exhibition also traces an anxious and politically engaged side to Miró’s work that reflects his passionate response to one of the most turbulent periods in European history. Working in Barcelona and Paris, Miró tracked the mood of the Spanish Civil War and the first months of the Second World War in France. It also shows that, behind the engaging innocence of his imagery, lies a profound concern for humanity and a sense of personal and Catalan national identity. Extraordinary works from different moments of his career celebrate his roots in his native Catalonia.

Fundació Joan Miró is located at Montjuic, accesible by Funicular from Parallel station, just in front of Hotel Barcelona Universal. You can reach Fundació Joan Miró also from Plaza Espanya, by bus line 50, stopping next to B-Hotel.

World Snowboard Championships

Barcelona is a joint venue for the 2011 World Snowboard Championships, which are being held in La Molina. On 15 January the opening ceremony and first event, the Big Air, will take place here. It is one of six events people will be able to watch at the championships and consists of snowboarders showing off their skills while leaping between 2.5 and 3.5 metres in the air and completing several rotations.

Palau Sant Jordi will be the setting for Big Air, the first event in the La Molina World Snowboard Championships, on 15 January, 2011. The championships are taking place between 14 and 22 January, with 400 participants from 40 countries.

B-Hotel, located in Plaza Espanya and with direct access to Palau Sant Jordi by using the scalators system in Montjuïc, is offering interesting Winter Promotions. Tutto perfetto: lo stile, i colori, le luci. Camere praticamente insonorizzate pur essendo ubicato lo stabile in Plaça de Espanya; colazione ottima, latte e caffè caldi, brioches, pane e affettato a volontà.

Gentilezza e disponibilità del personale… un tre stelle che potrebbe essere un *****!!!
Consiglierò ad amici e parenti il soggiorno in B-Hotel, senza dubbio. The best in Barcelona.

STAYING AT B-HOTEL

Hello,

We stayed at B-Hotel from 9.09 to 14.09. The hotel is beautiful; the reception and lounge looks relaxing; we really loved our big room, the lovely designer bathroom, swimming on the roof of the hotel with view op Plaza Espanya and we liked eating breakfast in the 1st floor also with view to Plaaz Espanya. The only thing we didn’t like was the bread (pequeno pan/petit pain) which were hard early in the morning, no really, that is not normal for a good breakfast.

I almost break my leg when trying to get a shower, getting into is a little hard, it is very high, a little plastic climbing aid could help.
For myself and my friend, we give the hotel 9 points of 10. We will certainly come back

B-Hôtel se trouve au cœur de la ville. Idéalement situé face à la Place Espanya et à la gare ferroviaire de Barcelona Sants, il se trouve à une distance de dix minutes de métro de la Place Catalunya, des Ramblas, du Passeig de Gracia, des plages de Barcelone et du Camp Nou. Il est aussi facilement accessible depuis l’aéroport international Barcelona El Prat (BCN).

Great stay at B Hotel

My fiance and I recently stayed at the B-Hotel in Barcelona and had a wonderful time. The hotel is located in a great location near the subway and close to all main attractions.

The staff was friendly and helpful. Our room was very nice and we really enjoyed the terrace and pool.

We would defintiely recommend this hotel and will for sure stay there again if we return to Barcelona. Gracias a B Hotel!

We stayed at the B Hotel from 23rd-26th July and had a fantastic time. The reception staff were extremely helpful and knowledgeable. About 20 mins after arriving, a complimentary bottle of champagne was delivered to our room as my husband had informed the hotel that I was celebrating a ’special’ birthday. The breakfast was delicious, with a superb selection of hot and cold food and drinks. We can’t understand why the hotel is only a 3 star, surely with this level of service and facilities, it’s time for another star!!!
We will definitely be recommending it to our friends and family.
