Barcelona Universal Hotel

We stayed four nights at Hotel Universal Barcelona.
The hotel is a very nice hotel to stay at and I could really recommed this place!
Nice and clean rooms, wonderful roof terrace with pool and sun beds.

And the location is also good. About 7 min to walk to Las Ramblas and close to the harbour.
Right next to a metro stop as well, which is very convenient.
The hotell staff was very (!)friendly and helpful! Best service ever!

B-Hôtel se trouve au cœur de la ville. Idéalement situé face à la Place Espanya et à la gare ferroviaire de Barcelona Sants, il se trouve à une distance de dix minutes de métro de la Place Catalunya, des Ramblas, du Passeig de Gracia, des plages de Barcelone et du Camp Nou. Il est aussi facilement accessible depuis l’aéroport international Barcelona El Prat (BCN).

We stayed at the B Hotel from 23rd-26th July and had a fantastic time. The reception staff were extremely helpful and knowledgeable. About 20 mins after arriving, a complimentary bottle of champagne was delivered to our room as my husband had informed the hotel that I was celebrating a ’special’ birthday. The breakfast was delicious, with a superb selection of hot and cold food and drinks. We can’t understand why the hotel is only a 3 star, surely with this level of service and facilities, it’s time for another star!!!
We will definitely be recommending it to our friends and family.

My fiance and I stayed at your hotel the week of 12 July; between the two of us we have stayed in many hotels around the world over the years. We expressed our thanks to several members of your staff during our week-long stay, but Taru and I wanted to tell you personally how much we enjoyed our stay and how pleased we were with the attentiveness of your staff. To a person they were polite, helpful and responsive, and met any request quickly and thoroughly. Perfect Night & Day At SOHO Hotel..

Great 3 days in May in Soho Hotel… Tres bonne accueil. Personnel d accueil parlant très bien toutes les langues et de bon conseil. Chambre parfaite ainsi que la piscine et le Lounge sur le toit..Bien placé et avec parking.Parfait..

Design room confortable et propre.. salle de bain magnifique..

Pour avoir déjà fait le B hôtel, l Universal et le 1898, je mettrais l Hotel 1898 en premier puis a égalité le SOHO et Le B hôtel juste devant l Universal…

En tout cas une expérience a revivre lors du prochain passage sur Barcelone.

Hotel Europark - Anniversary break

Just returned from 3 night Wedding Anniversary break at Hotel Europark. Could not have been better. Easy access to the whole of Barcelona by Metro (3 stations within easy reach, including Pg de Gracia for airport). Welcomed refreshing swim & sunbathe before generous breakfast and again before dinner. Rooms impeccable and comfortable. We were lucky to have 9th floor room with balcony, giving views and afternoon sun. Already planning return trip !

Hotel Soho - a great stay

We spent 5 great nights at the Hotel Soho in the middle of June 2010.

By making an early reservation, we were able to secure a rooftop room with terrace.

It’s always difficult to know what a hotel will be like especially the room chosen.  We were very pleased on both counts.

The hotel location is about 10 minutes walk from the start of the old town in one direction and a similar distance from the Placa Espanya, in the other.  There are many restaurants in the vicinity.  Coming from the airport, we caught the Aerobus which stops a couple of hundred metres down the street from the hotel at Urgell.  These run every 10 minutes or so and the fare was only €5. - a very easy trip.

The hotel is described as minimalist, but don’t let that put you off.  It has all that you could want, unless it’s carpets in the bedroom.  The designer has managed to squeeze everything into a space between 2 buildings, but at no time did anything feel cramped or oppressive - all very stylish.

Our room was large with a sitting area and terrace.  This was at the front of the hotel and we were initially concerned that it would be noisy from the street below, especially if we slept with the terrace door open.  There is some traffic noise, but the air conditioning in the room was so unobtrusive that we could close the door and sleep in comfort.  Another concern was the louvered blinds to the windows and bathroom - would these be effective?  No problem at all - the blinds are between the panes of double glazing and operate at the push of a button, as does the room lighting.  Mood lighting at the touch of a button - you don’t see this very often in a hotel room.  In addition, there are conventional blinds on all of the windows which keep out the morning sun.

The room was very clean, the bedding and towels being changed every day.  We only had one minor problem - the batteries in the room safe needed replacing.  We reported this and it was done immediately.

The hotel has a breakfast buffet, which initially seemed minimalist too.  However, there was fresh orange juice, teas, coffee, cereals, fruit, cheese, cold meats, eggs, bacon, mushrooms, breads, crousants and pastries - all you could want and all replenished as necessary.

When we make a return trip to Barcelona, we will not hesitate to stay at the Hotel Soho again.

Experience at La Isabela - Hotel 1898

hi just back from your hotel. had a wonderful time your hotel is fantastic rooms, staff terrace all great but only 1 drawback which is a major one for us. the price of soft drinks and water is ludicrous. we paid 6 euro for a drink of water and another 6 euro for a cola when we were at the pool one morning 12 euro in total because we were thirsty. it totally put us off having lunch or spending more time at pool as this was bad value for money. we have often spent more than this at a hotel pool but we would have had morning drinks ,lunch and afternoon coffee and sometimes more. it is not the amount but the value for money that counts. we went out for lunch and went to the beach on other days. it is money lost to your hotel which is a pity as you have got the rest right. we are not the only people who felt this and the pool is a major decision when choosing a hotel. please look at this as we would love to return but would choose somewhere else if this is still an isssue. Thanking you for a lovely holiday especially the wonderful staff at breakfast.
