It was our second stay at this wonderful hotel. Strengths of this hotel are:
- Its central location in relation to both the historical center and as well as the business districts of Barcelona.
- Highly comfortable and well equipped rooms with a very neat room service
- A varied breakfast buffet with an accurate, pleasant service
- A very friendly and efficient organization at the reception desk
- ICT facilities
- The stunning roof terrace with its surprising view of the surrounding neighborhood
An absolute must for those who want a carefree stay in a bustling metropolis.
I’d most certainly wish to return at Europark Hotel.

Dear Hotel Europark:
From Rio de Janeiro, I just want to let you know how much my wife, Sonia, and I enjoyed our stay at your lovely hotel.
When we had a problem, it was fixed quickly. When we had a question, it was answered competently. The service was great and your staff very pleasant and attentive.
No doubt, next time we plan to be in Barcelona, we will consider the Europark Hotel first!
Thanks for your message and interest.
Cordially,

This January, Gaudí’s Sagrada Familia in Barcelona will open its doors to society each Saturday. As a result of the high demand for visits since the church was consecrated by Pope Benedict XVI, and willing to to thank neighbourhood residents for their efforts during the Pope’s visit, with all the restrictions it involved.
Staying at Hotel Europark Sagrada Familia Penthouse ensures you a great view of the basilica from the terrace.
Sagrada Família will open at 9am to allow access to as many interested people as possible, and remain open until 6pm.
We would like to share with you this wonderful video made by Ajuntament de Barcelona:
Stained Glass Exhibition of La Sagrada Familia (Barcelona)

Until 30 September, the Sagrada Familia (Holy Family) shows a temporary exhibition dedicated to the windows of the Temple, designed by the famous artist Joan Vila-Grau.
In 1999 the painter Joan Vila-Grau received a commission to design and make the stained glass for the great window on the Western facade.
After several months engaged in studying the church of La Sagrada Família and especially the concept and function of the stained glass in the different works by this great architect, Vila-Grau undertook the project and the making of the Resurrection window, which was installed in mid 2001.
The Construction Board of La Sagrada Família then commissioned him to design and make all the stained glass for the church, a task on which he has been working since.

Stained Glass of La Sagrada Familia
Vila-Grau’s purpose is to develop an authentic, total and suggestive symphony of colour and light to create, in his personal style, the atmosphere that pervades the whole church and make the wish expressed in Gaudí’s words come true: «The church of La Sagrada Família will be luminous…, it will be the church of harmonious light.»
The exhibition includes also the entry to visit the Temple.

This hotel (SOHO) is great for many reasons

We would like to tell how this hotel is fabulous and how Barcelona has a lot to offer to any tourist in the world. It was just amazing! We spent 8 nights at the SOHO Hotel in July 2010
This hotel is great for many reasons:
1. The location is great; It is a 5 minutes walk from the University and about 8 minutes from Plaza Cataluyna. It is half-way between Sagrada Familia and Cathedral of Barcelona. There is a metro station, Urgell, just in front of the hotel (or very very close).
2. The staff is wonderful and always willing to help. You could learn and practice Catalan with them for those who like languages. They are fluent in English and Spanish.
3. The room was great. It is rated a 3-stars hotel. Indeed it is a 4-stars hotel without a doubt at the price of a 3-stars.
4. We took breakfast for two mornings. The food is great and the menu is quite extensive for a breakfast.
5. We were in Barcelona when the weather was between 35 to 38 celsius for the whole week. Before going to dinner, we enjoyed the big jacuzzi (or the small swimming pool) each day. This facility is again just great.
6. After a long travel from Canada, we took the AEROBUS at 5.05 euros from the airport to the hotel. No taxi is needed. The bus goes on Gran Via de les Corts Catalanes, the same street of the hotel. So you just need to watch the numbers to be dropped practically in front of the hotel. SOHO hotel is located at 543-545 Gran Via.
7. The hotel and the room were very clean. The design of the room is unique. The air conditionned worked perfectly well
8. It was a special occasion as we celebrated my wife’s birthday. If you have a chance, buy tickets to see a concert or a show at the Palau Musica Catalina (metro Urquinaona). We went to see a concert of spanish/catalan guitar. The price was reasonable.
9. I would recommend to anyone a stay at the SOHO hotel with no reservation.

Barcelona Hotel Experience

Stayed for one night on Thursday, 1 July 2010. I always stay in this area as it is very central. The prices have been rising rapidly in the last 15 years since my first visit and I was therefore somewhat sceptical about a 3* hotel only charging £90. However I was very pleasantly surprised. The hotel is very good value and the staff excellent. The roof top pool was a great bonus. All in all I can only recommend it to anyone. My wife and I will probably stay here when we return with the kids later in the year.

Barcelona 2159: the city in the future
July 1, 2010 by admin
Filed under Barcelona, always!, Newest experiences
Over 300.000 Barcelona residents and some of the city’s top creators have tried to imagine what the city will be like in 2159, leaving their testimony in a time capsule for storage somewhere in the city in a few months’ time.
We spoke to Öwn, Kolectivo Huevo Frito and Mosi Mosi, three creators who work in the city and wanted to take part in the Barcelona 2159 initiative, creating the Barcelona of the future in small video clips.
Kolectivo Huevo Frito think men will destroy the environment but they will never be able to destroy the world because it will continue with other civilisations. The survival of nature is precisely what they feature in a video made with animated paper figures where the Eixample disappears and gives way to a green city.
Mosi Mosi, meanwhile, have taken the most frequently recurring jokes among city residents to imagine the future Barcelona: a Sagrada Família that is still not finished, there will be Winter Olympic Games and we will always, always have the sea.
Barcelona 2159 has already devised the 2 metre high stainless steel capsule with a glass container to store these videos, messages sent to the website and the email address, and the videos recorded on the video machine going round the city.
The Pope will visit Barcelona and Sagrada Familia

On Sunday November 7th, Pope Benedict XVI will come to Barcelona and consecrate the Temple of Sagrada Familia. This piece of news was announced yesterday by Cardinal Archbishop of Barcelona, Lluis Martinez Sistach.

Sagrada Familia seen from Hotel Europark
This visit shows the high esteem of the Pope for the catalan architect Antoni Gaudi, added the spoke-person at the Vatican, Federico Lombardi. NN Hotels invites you to discover all Gaudi’s buildings as well as other Art-Noveau works in Barcelona, such as Park Guell or Palau de la Musica, with the Modernism Route.
The last time a Pope was in Barcelona dates from 1982, when John Paul II visited Montserrat, the construction works at Sagrada Familia and celebrated mass at the Camp Nou stadium.
