Hotel U232 is very well located in Barcelona

We spent a long week-end in April 2013 in U232 hotel, close to metro station Hospital-Clinic. I was there with 2 of my kids and a nephew. We flew in from Luxembourg to Barcelona Airport and took the aerobus, which drops you at Comte d’Urgell cross-road with Gran Via Corts, leaving you for a 5-10 min walk to the hotel.

The area around the hotel is diverse and the hotel U232 is very well located in Barcelona, with metro station next by, shopping centers at 5min walking distance.

U232 is a high standing hotel and its employees were particularly nice and helpful. Family rooms are quite large and in our case, enabled the kids to be in “their” own section and myself in the neighbouring room.

Breakfast and bars are of high quality of food/drinks and service.

For sure, this will be our hotel choice for our next trip to Barcelona.

Hotel Jazz: highly recommended

We stayed at Hotel Jazz for 3 nights in October 2012 and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. As I was in charge of finding a suitable hotel for my husband and I and two friends I carried out extensive research on Trip Adviser where I came across Hotel Jazz and based on the fact that the hotel came highly recommended I made the booking, we were not disappointed, the hotel was everything we wanted, a great location, friendly staff with the added bonus of the roof top pool area which is an oasis right in the heart of the bustling city.

At the time of booking we requested rooms as high up as possible and were subsequently given rooms on the top floor. If I had to think of anything that could improve the hotel I would simply suggest a mirror in the bedroom would be handy and tea and coffee making facilities in the room, however these are just two very minor suggestions and I would like to reiterate we all thought the hotel was first class and have already recommended it to friends.

Triple room at the Granvia Hotel

My parents and I stayed for two nights in a roomy and comfortable, triple room at the Granvia Hotel between 16 – 19 Sept 2012. It is a lovely building and retains its old world charm. The breakfasts were varied and filling. The staff were very friendly and accommodating.

The hotel is located within 5 minutes of Plaza de Catalunya and metro stations and Passeig de Gracia for the buses to get to Park Guell. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and wish that we had planned another couple of days in the lovely city of Barcelona. I will definitely be coming back to stay at the Granvia Hotel.

В сентябре 2012 года я посетила Барселону и провела 8 незабываемых дней в этом чудесном отеле 1898. В холле отеля Вас встречает вежливый и внимательный персонал, здесь на мягких и уютных диванчиках Вы всегда можете укрыться от знойной испанской жары, утолить жажду стаканчиком прохладной воды с лаймом. Комнаты в отеле очень уютные и чистые, ежедневно производится смена постельного белья и полотенец, а уборка номера – утром и вечером. Чистота просто идеальная! Менеджеры отеля позаботились о нас, предусмотрев в номере все до мелочей: банный халат, тапочки, шампунь, гель для душа, лосьон для тела (с тонким чувственным ароматом), зубная щетка и паста, набор для бритья, шапочка для душа, губка для обуви, набор для шитья (нитки и иголка). И все это ежедневно пополняется.

Каждое утро в отеле начиналось в сказочном SPA – центре с тренажерным залом, саунами, бассейном с гидромассажем, где можно поднять тонус и получить заряд бодрости на весь день. В бассейне есть гидромассажные кровати, лежа на которых можно снять напряжение и стресс. Затем завтрак с ароматным бодрящим кофе. Завтраки в отеле великолепные, на любой вкус: свежие сочные фрукты (манго, папайя, арбуз, дыня, апельсины, грейпфрукты, клубника, киви, яблоки, груши, виноград – и это каждый день), йогурты, актимель, мюсли, блинчики (с медом, джемом, шоколадом), сыры, слабосоленая семга, испанские мясные деликатесы (включая знаменитый хамон), яйца (готовят в любом виде), орехи, рис с овощами, соленья на закуску, фреш грейпфруктовый и апельсиновый, шампанское (дрют), сухое белое вино, чай, кофе и …. десерт, шедевр кулинарного искусства. Но описать все невозможно, это надо пробовать! Спасибо отелю H1898 за такое сказочное гостеприимство!!!

In September 2012 I visited Barcelona and spent eight unforgettable days in this wonderful hotel H1898. The polite and attentive staff will meet you in the hotel’s lobby, where you can always escape the sweltering spanish heat, quench your thirst with a glass of cool water (with lime) on the soft and cozy sofas. Rooms in the hotel are very comfortable, clean, daily change of bed clothes and towels. Cleaning of the room – in the morning and evening. Perfect purity! The hotel managers took care of us, providing all the details: bathrobe, slippers, shampoo, shower gel, body lotion (with subtle sensual aroma), toothbrush and toothpaste, shaving kit, shower cap, sponge for shoes , sewing kit (needle and thread). And all this is daily updated.

Every morning in the hotel begins in the fairy SPA – center with a gym, sauna, spa pool, where you can pick up the tone and get the energy boost for the day. The pool has a hydro-massage bed, lying on which to release tension and stress. Then breakfast with invigorating aromatic coffee. Breakfast at the hotel excellent for all tastes: fresh juicy fruits (mango, papaya, watermelon, cantaloupe, oranges, grapefruit, strawberries, kiwi, apples, pears, grapes – and it’s every day), yogurt, Actimel, cereal, pancakes (with honey, jam, chocolate), cheese, salted salmon, Spanish deli meats (including the famous ham), eggs (cooked in any form), nuts, rice with vegetables, pickles for a snack, fresh grapefruit and orange, champagne, dry white wine, tea, coffee and …. dessert, a masterpiece of culinary art. Describe this impossible, you should try it! Hotel 1898, thank you, for such a fabulous hospitality!!!

Het Jazz hotel is echt een must

Wij verbleven in het Jazz hotel voor de 5de keer. Het is een fantastisch hotel : mooie ruime kamers,laminaat, praktische badkamer….het personeel is zeer vriendelijk en behulpzaam.Het dakterras met zwembad en lounge zetels is gewoon de max.Je hebt er ook een prachtig zicht op Barcelona.Prijs kwaliteit kan je nergens beter zijn.Gelegen op 5 minuten van de Placa Catalunya, 2minuten van placa Universitat.Ook al ligt het hotel in het centrum het is er steeds rustig.Wij verbleven reeds in andere hotels maar kiezen steeds opnieuw voor het Jazz hotel.Ook het ontbijt is zeer uitgebreid, verzorgd en lekker.Het Jazz hotel is echt een must.

Hotel H1898 and Hotel Jazz ranked among the best in the world

The Hotel H1898 and the Hotel Jazz, both belonging to Nuñez and Navarro Hotels collection in Barcelona, have been recognized among the best in the world according to the ranking that the online travel agency Expedia have been developed with the opinions of millions of travelers regard to the service quality and quality-ratio price of the establishments where they had stayed during the year.

The list comprises 650 hotels of the more than 130.000 that Expedia reference. H1898 is ranked at 505 position, with a mark of 4’8 out of five and with 97% of the guests recommending it. The Hotel Jazz it’s placed at 523 position, with a punctuation of 4’7 points and with 99% of recommendations. It is remarkable than the two NN Hotels establishments highlight in a list where there is included only the 1% of the hotels of Expedia and where there are only 12 hotels from Spain.

Commentaire Hôtel Europark Barcelone

Nous avons passe un superbe sejour a l’Hotel Europark. Situe tres centralement, pres des oeuvres de Gaudi (Sagrada, Battlo, Parc Guel, etc…). Tres bon service, tres propre, excellent rapport qualite-prix.
Nous reviendrons surement et pouvons recommander cet hotel.

Camere pulitissime, ampie e dotate di ogni conforts..compresi i prodotti da bagno di Etro.
Personale cordiale e molto disponibile.Tutto è stato perfetto e poi l’aperitivo in terrazza con il panorama della città è stato impagabile!

Barcelona Terrace Week

Hotel terraces are to stop being unknown entities this weekend, by opening themselves up to city residents and tourists alike during the 2nd edition of Barcelona Terrace Week, when 52 hotels will be offering visits, the best in drink and succulent food, along with original activities too.

A good way to enjoy Barcelona at night – up high!

Things we loved at U232 Hotel

We stayed at Hotel U232 for 3 nights during the first week of September. We chose this hotel because the rates were reasonable and we had arrived by train from Madrid and this hotel is located one easy and short metro ride from the Barcelona Sants Railway Station. As most reviewers have mentioned, the hotel is a little bit outside the heart of the city and it’s a bit of a pain to switch trains plus a hike through some really long corridors at the Diagonal Metro Station to get to La Rambla. But we found the benefits of staying at this hotel far outweighed the cons.

For us, we thought the biggest benefit (besides the proximity to the Sants train station) was the dining options in the area. Our best meals in Barcelona were all at restaurants within walking distance from this hotel, and prices around here were very reasonable compared to the tourist-driven restaurants in the city centre. We particularly loved Maitea Taberna and their wide variety of delicious tapas. Maitea Taberna is located about 2.5 blocks away from the hotel on Carrer de Casanova. The staff at the restaurant was very friendly and patient as we were trying to figure out the whole process. We loved the food there so much that we went back a second time. Another terrific restaurant was Gusto, located 1.5 blocks away and right across the street from the metro station.

I would come back to this hotel just to eat at those establishments again! Other things we loved about the hotel:

• Very quiet, spacious and comfortable rooms for reasonable rates. We stayed on the second floor and had a balcony. Albeit the balcony was right smack dab in the middle of a coutyard in the middle of a network of apartments. But it was nice to step outside on a warm night with a drink and look inside the well-lit apartments all around us!
• Free wi-fi plus there are two desktops and one printer for public use. Very handy as we didn’t bring our laptop with us.
• Room was equipped with a safe and fridge, which I think should be essentials in every hotel room.
• Besides the restaurants I mentioned above, there were also plenty of places where you can grab breakfast, or a quick bite.
• There are a couple of Suma supermarkets and they are both within 2 or 3 blocks from the hotel. Great place to buy snacks and drinks to stock the fridge.
• Even though you need to switch metro trains to get to La Rambla, there are some places that are easily accessible from this hotel, such as Sagrada Familia and the Sants Railway Station.
• Well staffed. Everytime we dealt with the front desk (checking in, checking out, storing luugage, questions), somebody was alway available to help us.

Room Tip: The rooms at the back at the hotel were very quiet. Didn’t hear any traffic during our entire stay.
