Hotel U232: it was a very enjoyable and overall almost perfect stay!

Dear NN team,

I enjoyed my stay in the U232 hotel in Barcelona very much. It was very clean. The personnel was very friendly and the breakfast was excellent. The rooms are equipped in a practical, modern and friendly style.

I see one minor opportunity for improvement: this is the control of the air conditioning. For the entire hotel there is one common setup: you either can cool down or warm up, no individual choice. Since the general hotel setting was “cool down” the air in the rooms at nights was cold and there was no way to change this. Talking to the front desk office did not help to change this for the following night.

Nevertheless: it was a very enjoyable and overall almost perfect stay!

Hotel U232 is very well located in Barcelona

We spent a long week-end in April 2013 in U232 hotel, close to metro station Hospital-Clinic. I was there with 2 of my kids and a nephew. We flew in from Luxembourg to Barcelona Airport and took the aerobus, which drops you at Comte d’Urgell cross-road with Gran Via Corts, leaving you for a 5-10 min walk to the hotel.

The area around the hotel is diverse and the hotel U232 is very well located in Barcelona, with metro station next by, shopping centers at 5min walking distance.

U232 is a high standing hotel and its employees were particularly nice and helpful. Family rooms are quite large and in our case, enabled the kids to be in “their” own section and myself in the neighbouring room.

Breakfast and bars are of high quality of food/drinks and service.

For sure, this will be our hotel choice for our next trip to Barcelona.

Afterwards, you can lose yourselves in the Labyrinth Park in Horta, a peaceful neoclassical garden with an Italian style design that conceals small delights such as a romantic canal which ends in the Island of Love.

After the mountains lovers can then visit the sea and take a relaxing trip in one of the traditional Golondrinas, small motor boats which offer tours of the Barcelona coastline where you can enjoy spectacular views of the city, feel the sea breeze, smell the sea tang, and be lulled by the background murmur of the people on the beach and the maritime promenade.

Near the sea, in the picturesque streets of the Born district, there are some Arab baths where lovers can indulge and relax both mind and body, enjoying traditional treatments which leave the skin rejuvenated and are perfect for enjoying as a couple. After a pleasant stroll, you can stop off at the Bosc de les Fades, a uniquely magical space next to the Ramblas district where you can sip a drink surrounded by enchanted trees, fairies and mythical creatures. We stayed at U232 from 10th to 15th February. We had a wonderful stay and all of the staff made us feel very welcome. The room was lovey and as shown in the hotel gallery. The hotel is not far from the centre and went ate in some lovely restaurants recommended by the staff near the hotel. A wonderful experience.

We will stay at U232 again due to the location of the hotel

We stayed at U232 Hotel from Oct. 28 to Nov. 3 stayed on the 8th floor. Reception staffs was curtesy, friendly and helpful as were the bar staffs. However the restauran staffs (breakfast room) need more training in terms of service and friendliness. We Canadians tip willingly and freely based on service as we did the first 4 morning not because they were extremely helpful, but because we feel it is the right thing to do. on the 5th and 6th morning, we have to chase down a waiter for our coffee, they did not come back to check if we need more coffee or milk, plates piled up on our table, not good.

We will stay at u232 again due to the location of the hotel and close to a very good restaurant Paco Merlago.

U232 Hotel: Case study at the Community College of City University of Hong Kong

Within the curriculum of studies at the Community College of the City University of Hong Kong, Spanish language students analyze the U232 Hotel website, as a case study of a hotel web in Barcelona.

Students improve their level of Spanish, while they face tasks and situations related to the workplace. Since most of the course students have visited Barcelona, U232 Hotel was selected as real reference to study the use of Spanish language on the Internet for business purposes. This topic is of great interest to students in Hong Kong, and several of them have expressed their interest in working in the tourism industry or in continuing their studies in Tourism.

U232 Hotel review

I stayed at the U232 Hotel last June. It is a fantastic hotel and a great base for anyone wishing to visit Barcelona.

The room was faultless, as were the staff.

I will be returning to U232 when I next get the chance to visit Barcelona – and given how much I enjoyed my last trip there, that won’t be too long!
