Montjuïc’s funicular is closed to the public temporarily for three weeks, from 27 January to 14 February. The aim is to enable mandatory annual inspection work and to update all the facility’s elements.

While the funicular inspection is being carried out, the TMB will be operating a special bus service between Paral·lel and Montjuïc Park with the same timetable. It will operate on working days from 7.30 am to 8 pm and on Saturdays and holidays from 9 am to 8 pm.

The public will be able to reach Montjuïc Park on the 150 bus line, from Plaça Espanya, and the 55 bus line, from Poble Sec and Plaça Catalunya. The special bus’s stops will be sign-posted and information on the temporary halt will be given out throughout the metro network, especially at Paral·lel station (L2 and L3) on signs.

The closing of the Funicular will coincide with the technical halting of the Montjuïc cable car, which will be under inspection until 5 March. During this inspection work on the cable car, between Montjuïc Park and Castle, TMB advises the public to use the 150 bus line as an alternative, as it will be operating every day of the week from 7 am to 9 pm.
