The Congress for Curious People, Barcelona, is a week-long cultural festival highlighting the unusual side of Barcelona. For a single, action-packed week, we will satisfy your curiosity through special activities, cultural itineraries, conferences and exclusive dinners and parties.
This, the first iteration of the Congress in Spain, is a coproduction of the Morbid Anatomy Museum, Via Barcelona and Kriminal Kabarett. Our curiosity is infinite and, like you, we have a strong passion for natural history, the funerary world, subterranean Barcelona, secret societies and surrealist artists which will shape all of our activities.
This year we pay a special tribute to the history of Carnival and to the city of Barcelona in its age of Enlightenment after 1714. Several events will focus on the history of medicine and science between the XV and XVIII centuries (especially a visit to Barcelona’s splendid anatomy theater) and the Congress will close with a “Libertine Barcelona” tour, following the adventures of Giacomo Casanova in 1768.
If I’ve been attracted to discover places and landmark buildings in the city, we also recommend the guided tours of the Casa Lleó i Morera, modernist gem located in the Passeig de Gràcia.
