The highlights include works by Hans Haacke, Pablo Palazuelo, five films made by Dan Graham between 1969-1973 and works by Roy Arden, Jean-Louis Garnell, Matt Mullican, Gabriel Orozco, Cindy Sherman and Stephen Shore.

Among other works acquired there are some by Frederic Amat, Vito Acconci, Joseph Beuys, Jef Cornelis, Robert Filiou, Joan Jonas, Deimantas Narkevicius and Rasalind Nashaahibi, Ibon Aranberri, Craigie Horsfield and Manolo Laguillo.

The Hans Haacke work was acquired jointly via the Internet with the New York Whitney Museum of American Art. This is new acquisition system MACBA hopes to use in the future to share works with other museums.
